Graphene 360
Following the Speed and Extreme racket lines, there is now an update with the Graphene 360 material for the Instinct series. This means that at the time of writing, only the Radical and Prestige families still work with Graphene Touch. These will undoubtedly follow this year. The
MxG series will remain with Graphene Touch in combination with a magnesium bridge. In this new Instinct series, Graphene is not only used around the heart of the racket, but also at 3, 9 and 12 o'clock in the head. Hence the name Graphene 360. This provides extra racket (head) stability, but also better energy transfer from racket to ball for more power according to Head.
Innovations Head Graphene 360 Instinct series
Of all Head's racket families, the Instinct series remains the most accessible and user-friendly. The wide 23/26/23 mm frame profiles provide a lot of power, reinforced by the 16x19 stringing pattern. The latter also offers good spin potential. Besides the use of Graphene 360, not much has changed, except for the looks. A slightly updated frame construction should open up the sweet spot a little more. Players who liked the Graphene Touch version can switch to the new series without too many problems. The Instinct Lite has been replaced by the Instinct MP Lite with a normal 100 sq/inch top size. This is to facilitate 'growth' within the same racket line, which is a great move.
