This new Yonex VCORE SV series is launched under the slogan: 'Spin it to the limit'. As is well known, the Japanese brand invests a great deal of research and technology in the development of a new product. This is no different with the new Yonex VCORE SV series:
- New Aero Fin Technology: thanks to this technology, the VCORE SV series has 16% less drag and 2.9% more swing speed. To achieve this, Yonex uses special 'fins' at the top on the inside of the head and on the outside of the frame at 10 and 2 o'clock. This provides improved aerodynamics, resulting in more spin, a higher ball flight with more margin over the net, and more ball speed
Yonex VCORE SV New Aero Fin Technology
- SV Frame: the new NANOMETRIC XT Carbon on the inside of the top of the head provides extra flex, allowing the ball to be 'pocketed' better in the head. At the bottom of the head, the aerodynamic construction provides extra stability and extra ball repulsion
- The well-known angled ISOMETRIC head shape provides a larger ideal hitting zone for the ball. Black Micro Core provides more head stability and less vibration, and the 3D Vector Shaft provides more stiffness in the heart of the racket for extra power and stability
Playing characteristics of the Yonex VCORE SV 98 305 The Yonex VCORE SV 98 305 has a slightly stiffer feel compared to other Yonex racket families such as the EZONE DR or the VCORE Duel G series. For most players, this will take some getting used to and feel slightly different from what they are accustomed to with Yonex. On the other hand, it aligns perfectly with the playing characteristics and technology of this racket: spin and power. In that regard, the feel of the Yonex VCORE SV 98 305 falls between the Yonex EZONE DR 98 310 and, for example, a Babolat Pure Aero. The first has a slightly softer feel and more touch, as well as a clearly lower RA value of 62. The second feels slightly stiffer, is clearly more power-oriented, and has an RA value (stiffness) of 69. 
Where this Yonex VCORE SV 98 305 excels is on one hand speed and maneuverability, and on the other hand power and spin. The racket is very quick to maneuver thanks to both the new 'fins' for less drag and the low 31.5 balance. This makes the racket truly lightning-fast! Gripping the ball is also quite easy, making playing with rotation (both spin and slice) a breeze. Still, the control is also quite decent. The 16/20 string pattern offers a higher string density in the sweet spot than the previously mentioned Pure Aero from Babolat. If ball feel and control are more important to you, then the EZONE DR and the VCORE Duel series are better options.
All in all, the VCORE SV series is a worthy successor to the VCORE Si line. The feel of this Yonex VCORE SV 98 305 may be slightly different from what you are used to with Yonex, but the racket absolutely lives up to its name: 'Spin it to the limit'!
