The Babolat Pure Drive 2018 shares the same familiar specifications as its 2015 predecessor , but introduces a number of innovations that further improve performance.

While the frame construction of the 2018 Pure Drive remains the same, with the familiar elliptical shaft shape for optimal power and less twist, important technological updates have been added.

1. Cortex Pure Feel
   Babolat collaborated with SMAC , an aerospace company, to develop Cortex Pure Feel . This technology, incorporated into the racquet’s shaft, uses viscoelastic rubber to better dampen vibrations. This creates a purer, more consistent playing feel, similar to other recent innovations such as Wilson’s Countervail and Head’s Graphene Touch .

2. FSI Power
   The new FSI Power technology, first introduced in the Pure Drive series , provides more power and a larger sweet spot. In previous versions, the strings in the sweet spot were tighter for more control, but now the strings are pulled further apart, resulting in more power and easier ball rotation, even on off-center hits.
