Tester:
Player Name: Stephan Couzijn
Level: 5
Player type: 40 year old, all-court player, eastern grip, one-handed backhand, fairly flat shots
Own racket: Wilson Juice Pro, 96 sq/inch, 324 gr, 31.0 cm, 16/20 string pattern
Player's racket history: Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 95, Wilson Six-One 95, Head Radical, Dunlop Airgel 300 Tour, Babolat Pure Storm Tour GT, Wilson Pro Staff 95.

Baseline:
From the baseline this racket plays very stable. It is a real precision tool. Provided you manage to hit the balls in the middle of the blade, but also outside of that the racket is quite forgiving. It is also remarkable that compared to the previous version you can generate spin much easier with this frame due to the open string pattern, without sacrificing control. The relatively high weight ensures a lot of control and power if you let the racket do the work. Most striking were the razor-sharp slices from the baseline that you can place anywhere against the lines. You can also place approach slices deep and tight. Under pressure the Prince Textreme Tour 95 performs well but you have to keep hitting to keep sufficient length in your strokes. Due to the small blade the racket is easy to change direction. Compared to for example the Wilson Pro Staff 95 the Textreme Tour 95 is much more stable with slightly less power. The subtle strokes can also be performed excellently from the baseline.

Service:
Serving with the Prince Textreme Tour 95 is just like with the strokes from the baseline with precision. Compared to, for example, the Wilson Pro Staff 97 RF autograph you can create a little easier rackethead speed with the Textreme Tour 95, which means you don't lose too much power. Probably because of the slightly smaller blade. Especially the slice service you can hit very effectively with the Textreme Tour 95.

Just:
A wonderful racket to volley with. When volleying, you notice the enormous ball feel of this racket. The balance and weight of the frame allow balls to be placed extremely precisely. A test with a number of tin balls in the service box and on the baseline resulted in an astonishing number of hits for a player who is not known for his accurate volleys. Very nice to place a volley down with centimeter precision. This experience alone could persuade me to switch to the Prince Textreme Tour 95.

Power:
With this racket you mainly create power by letting the racket do its own work and swinging smoothly through the ball. To get the most out of the racket you need to have good technique and a smooth stroke. By stringing the racket a little softer you gain in my opinion just enough power to be able to handle it well and at the same time you do not lose control and the ball feel remains phenomenal.

Control:
We can be brief about it. This racket is a precision tool with a lot of control on all strokes.

Comfort/Arm-friendliness:
The racket feels comfortable, partly due to the relatively thin box beam frame. The impact of the ball is almost not felt on the arm. For those who cannot easily generate their own speed and have to hit with force because of the low power level, will probably develop sore muscles. However, if you have a smooth swing and can easily hit through the ball, you will get more than enough power from this racket.

General impression:
A kind of happy anticipation when I heard that Prince has given the Tour 95 a new look with an open string pattern, which brings back the classic playing feel. The large holes (Exo3 ports) for the strings have also been replaced by the classic tubings. All in all, this alone sounded like music to my ears. The appearance of the Prince Textreme Tour 95 with the green colored inside of the blade and the black frame looks cool and is reminiscent of the old Wilson Pro Staff Hyper Carbon Tour 90 with its yellow inside. On paper, the Textreme Tour 95 is the perfect frame to display the ball feel that Prince rackets are known for. From the first ball contact, the racket felt great: like an extension of my arm. A racket with which you have to generate power yourself by moving the racket well through the ball. Comparable to the playing feel of the Wilson Pro Staff RF97, which I personally find a little less arm-friendly. The classic ball feel of Prince is especially evident when hitting volleys and slices that can be delivered really sharply. I would almost say unprecedented and no longer found in modern rackets. Due to the open string pattern, you can also produce excellent spin with this Prince Textreme Tour 95, unlike its predecessors, to be able to play more modern tennis. In short, an all-round racket for players who are looking for a classic playing feel with sufficient spin possibilities.
