Prince Textreme Warrior 100 tested

The Prince Textreme racket collection has received excellent reviews, and the Prince Textreme Warrior 100 is perhaps the most versatile racket in this series. Test player Mike has tested this racket extensively for mijnracket.nl and his findings can be read below.

Tested racket:

  • Brand: Prince
  • Model: Textreme Warrior 100
  • Blade size: 100 sq/inch
  • Weight: 300 grams
  • Balance: 31.5 cm
  • Stringing pattern: 16/18
  • Length: 27 inches
  • RA: 66
  • Power level: 1000
  • String: Prince Synthetic Gut Original 16, 25/25 kg

  • Tester:

    • Name: Mike
    • Playing strength: 4/4
    • Player type: Classic player, flat groundstrokes, generates little spin himself. Had shoulder problems until recently.
    • Racket history: Head Ti Fire, Babolat Pure Drive, Prince EXO3 Rebel Team, Wilson Steam 100 BLX2, Head Graphene Radical MP and Yonex EZONE DR 98 310

    Baseline:

From the baseline, the Prince Textreme Warrior 100 feels like a powerful weapon with excellent spin potential . The balls fly off the face with ease, but you still retain good ball control and feel. I previously tested the Prince Textreme Tour 100T , which is a bit more control-oriented with a similar face size and string pattern, and it also felt very solid. The Textreme technology seems to provide extra stability to this new generation of Prince racquets, regardless of the other specifications. Even with harder hits, the ball remains very controllable thanks to the stability of the frame.

Compared to the Babolat Pure Drive, the Prince Textreme Warrior 100 feels slightly more comfortable, while offering similar power and spin capabilities from the baseline.

    Service:

Serving with the Textreme Warrior 100 is effortless and powerful. The open stringing pattern makes it easy to create angles and generate spin, such as slice or kick. The blade offers noticeably more power than I am used to from my Head Graphene Radical MP and Yonex EZONE DR 98 , which becomes clear when serving. Extra spin and slice are necessary to properly control the length of the balls.

    Just:

At the net, it almost feels like cheating with the Prince Textreme Warrior 100 . The large sweet spot combined with the low balance of 31.5 cm makes this racket extremely manoeuvrable. The Textreme technology also offers sufficient blade stability, allowing for precise control of volleys.

    Power:

The Prince Textreme Warrior 100 has power in abundance, as the Power Level of 1000 already indicates. This racket is suitable for a wide group of players with an average swing, but players with a more compact swing can also handle it well. For players with a very powerful swing, the "big hitters", the Prince Textreme Tour 100P might be a better choice because of the extra control that this racket offers. For me personally, used to rackets such as the Head Graphene Radical MP and Yonex EZONE DR 98 , this racket offered a bit too much power with the current string set. A thinner polyester string would improve the balance between power and control.

    Control:

What Prince has done with the Textreme frames is create a very solid and stable feel. I have tested several Textreme rackets by now, including the Tour 100P , Tour 100T , Tour 95 and this Warrior 100 , and each racket offers a stable playing feel with a lot of feel and control. In terms of specs, this racket offers a bit too much power for me, but a different string setup could provide more control.

    Comfort/Arm-friendliness:

The Prince Textreme Warrior 100 is a very comfortable racket. The racket reminds me of the Babolat Pure Drive because of the combination of power and spin, but the Warrior 100 feels clearly more comfortable. The generous sweet spot ensures that balls that are not hit perfectly do not cause many extra vibrations that are stressful for the arm. In terms of comfort, this frame scores very high, which is important for players with arm problems.

    General Impression:

The Prince Textreme Warrior 100 is a super versatile racket that offers an excellent mix of power, control, comfort, maneuverability and spin. This racket is ideal for players with an average to compact swing, but less suitable for players with a very powerful swing. For a racket with a headsize of 100 sq/inch this is one of the most comfortable options, while still offering the stability of a Tour frame for example.
