Playing features and technology:

Mike has tested this Metalbone CTRL 3.3 extensively and the following things stood out. The racket has a wonderfully fast feel due to the somewhat lower balance point. The racket can therefore be positioned very quickly, which is nice at the net, but also from the back court. The racket has a soft touch and therefore a very nice control over the ball. However, what you put in in terms of energy, you also get back. The foam is super responsive in that respect. Chiquitas and balls based on feel are very nice, but the racket also has plenty of put-away power when the ball really has to be off. Furthermore, the racket feels very stable at ball impact.

For the Adidas Metalbone CTRL 3.3 2024, the brand uses carbon aluminized 2 to 1 in the blade. This production process in which carbon fibers are interwoven with aluminum provides extra power, but also a low flex. The blade therefore does not feel too tinny and hard, which many of the competitors in this segment unfortunately do have. In addition, it also strengthens the blade: the blade is therefore simply stronger and more durable. Another striking feature is the type of foam used for this racket. It is a soft performance foam for extra energy return in the ball, more touch and more comfort.
