The best strings for spin!
In this article we share our current favorite strings that provide extra spin and slice. These strings are in random order.
1. Babolat RPM
No list of strings for extra spin is complete without the Babolat RPM Blast ! As one of the first strings specifically designed for spin, this octagonal string offers a lot of snapback thanks to the silicone coating. This snapback provides more spin. The octagonal shape gives a little more bite, but it is mainly the snapback that makes the difference. This is the string with which Rafael Nadal has had great success, often in the ultra-thick 1.35 mm version and strung at 25 kg. We offer the RPM Blast in 1.20 , 1.25 and 1.30 mm.
2. Diadem Solstice Power
The Diadem Solstice Power is one of the most aggressively shaped strings on the market. This string from the young American brand Diadem has a star-shaped cross-section with six 'points' that ensure great ballbite. At the same time, the main strings can slide well over the cross strings for extra snapback, which greatly increases the spin potential. In addition, this string is relatively comfortable for its type.
3. Head Lynx Tour
The Head Lynx Tour offers a nice balance between spin and control. This hexagonal string is fairly new to the market and delivers enough spin, although it is not as sharp as the Diadem Solstice Power. The biggest advantage of this string is its consistency, and the tension retention is excellent for a string in this segment. We tested this string in the new Head Radical MP 2021 .
4. Wilson Revolve
Although the Wilson Revolve is a round string, it definitely deserves a place in this list. The special coating ensures an excellent snapback and therefore a lot of rotation. The string is moderately stiff and offers a consistent playing feel. The Revolve works especially well in the Spin Effect rackets from Wilson.
5. Solinco Hyper-G
The bright greenSolinco Hyper-G has a square shape with sharp corners. This string is a favorite among players with a big, full swing, because it offers predictability and extra margin. The Hyper-G gives a little more 'net clearance,' which makes your shots more secure. This allows you to hit hard without having to worry about mistakes. Read our full review of the Hyper-G here.
Please note: This is a list of our personal favorite strings for spin. The selection is huge, and we could easily have made a top 20. However, we have kept it manageable by limiting ourselves to these five top ones that we have recently tested or use regularly ourselves.
