With our own Ricoh Open in Rosmalen the new grass tennis season starts! The undersigned visited this very cozy tournament. Hereby an impression of the Ricoh Open Rosmalen 2016 !
Teenage talent Stefan Kozlov pulls off a stunt against his compatriot Steve Johnson! Our own Dutch grass tournament has received a major facelift with the arrival of the new main sponsor Ricoh. The tournament has definitely gained in image and professionalism. The renovated entrance, the shopping boulevard and the hospitality areas all look sleek. From the central entrance towards the courts there is also the opportunity to get acquainted with padel or beach tennis, a very nice bonus.
Australian Bernard Tomic serves during his match against Brit Aljaz Bedene[/caption] The major racket brands present themselves on the shopping boulevard. Babolat is the official string service for the Ricoh Open Rosmalen 2016. Next to the Babolat stand you will find the stringing booth, where 4 stringing heroes take care of all the rackets for both the WTA tournament and the ATP tournament. A new record in the number of strung rackets is in the making, I understand. One of these top stringers is mijnracket.nl blogger Timo van Driel. In the photo below he shows David Ferrer's racket, which came fresh from the machine! The new Babolat racket station, the crème de la crème when it comes to stringing machines, can also be admired there.
