A new Italian string brand with the cool name String-Kong and a monkey that looks like Donkey Kong's second cousin as its logo... We are curious!
In about 2 weeks, a new Italian string brand will be launched under the name String-Kong. The brand was founded by an Italian Pro Tour Stringer and its slogan is 'Mighty and Competitive'. According to the brand, the strings excel in tension retention. Mijnracket.nl may put the strings through the test! String-Kong offers a nice diverse range of strings, from multifilament strings to ultra-thin control-oriented co-polyester strings, all with cool, catchy names! On the back of the packaging, you can see how the strings score in the areas of power, control, spin, comfort and tension retention based on the number of monkeys:
A small overview of the String-Kong string line:
- Gibbon 1.30 : elastic multifilament string with good spinning potential
- Yeti (1.17 and 1.26): a control oriented co-poly with low elasticity and excellent tension retention. Recommended for hard hitters
- Gorill-1: Power oriented co-poly with high stretch, good tension retention and extra snapback for spin potential
- Bonobo 1.30 : also a multifilament string. The Bonobo is a polyamide coated multifilament with a lot of comfort that is ideal for a hybrid string set-up
- Orango 1.22: 8-sided all-round soft co-poly string with good spinning potential
We're going to put some of the above mentioned strings through the test this coming week. Let's see if String-Kong is indeed a 'mighty and competitive' new string brand!
