One of the most iconic tennis rackets of all time is back! To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Wilson is releasing the Pro Staff Classic 6.1 in a limited edition. The racket is now available in grip sizes 2, 3 and 4. This heavy-weight from Wilson was previously used by Stefan Edberg and our own Richard Krajicek and is built for optimum ball control.
The Wilson Pro Staff Classic 6.1 25th anniversary edition features the well-known Pro Staff material mix of 80% graphite and 20% Kevlar. The addition of Kevlar would give the racket extra strength and stability. The addition of 6.1 stands for the Swing Index that Wilson used as standard at the time. This indicated what type of swing this racket would be suitable for, in this case for someone with a large, full swing. The PWS 'blocks' are placed at 3 and 9 o'clock in the blade. PWS stands for Perimeter Weighting System and provides extra blade stability, so that the racket twists less quickly with off-center hits. The low 30.5 balance ensures that the high static weight of 341 grams (plus stringing) is still easy to maneuver/swing. The classic 95 sq/inch racket blade with the compact 18/20 stringing pattern gives unprecedented feel and control. This is underlined by the 80% graphite and 20% kevlar material mix and the PWS blade stabilizers. The Wilson Pro Staff Classic 6.1 25th anniversary edition is therefore a racket where you absolutely have to put the energy into the ball yourself, but if you do, you get a truckload of control and classic feel in return!
