Intro
The EZONE racket family is Yonex's most successful racket franchise. 'The Easy One', as the nickname of the EZONE is, stands for ease of playing, power and comfort. Generation 7 of this racket line will be released in January 2022. Yonex will first launch the EZONE 100 of 300 grams and the EZONE 98 of 305 grams in January. The other models will follow in March. Plus (extended) versions and the 98 Tour are not expected before August 2022.
Technology and novelties Yonex EZONE 2022
In addition to a fresh paint job, Yonex has indeed invested in the new EZONE racket family. The first thing you notice is a thickening in the shaft of the racket (just above the grip; see image). The thickening has a convex (spherical) shape. 2G-Namd Speed in the shaft around the heart piece provides more ball speed and feel. The Aeroshape design technology and the Isometric technology remain and provide a softer playing feel and a larger sweet spot respectively.
At this point the shaft is thickened with a convex 'shape'[/caption] Other well-known Yonex technology such as the OPS (Oval Pressed Shaft) ensures more dwell time, a longer contact moment with the ball, and fewer vibrations. The VDM, Vibration Dampening Mesh , is also incorporated into the grip and filters harmful vibrations. Finally, the Liner Tech technology for the strings. The grommet holes are drilled straight, also in the blade corners. This lengthens the strings fractionally, for more power and comfort on off-center hits. In addition, the frame thickness at the top of the top of the EZONE 98 and 100 2022 has been slightly adjusted (thickened). So much for the technical talk, now on to the racket specs!
