The ASICS Gel Resolution 6 is the shoe of our French wizard Gaël Monfils. New in this update is the midfoot support system and the new construction of the external heel cap. Both provide the most stable version of the Gel Resolution to date. This shoe has always scored high in terms of wear resistance. With this update, ASICS even dares to go so far as to provide a 6-month 'durability guarantee' on the outsole.
In addition to support and wear resistance, the ASICS Gel Resolution 6 is an excellent all-rounder, which is evident from its excellent breathability and pleasant flex in the forefoot for fast sprints. The shoe has the well-known ASICS Gel cushioning in both the heel and forefoot for good cushioning on all surfaces.
The shoe is available in 2 sole types: an all-round sole for hard courts and artificial grass (also works well on clay) and a clay sole, with a deep herringbone profile which is ideal for clay. The all-round version has a mesh upper at the forefoot for more breathability, while the clay version has a closed upper, so that no gravel can get into the shoe. In addition, this upper is also slightly more durable.
The toe of the ASICS Gel Resolution 6 is extra sturdy, and the extra wear-resistant PGuard material is also placed medially (more on the inside of the shoe) to prevent the heavy dragging and sliding that some players do. However, this 'encapsulated' toe box does not come at the expense of the comfort and ease of wearing the shoe. Good work from ASICS! Differences compared to the Resolution 5 are the 'lower to the ground feeling', which makes the shoe very direct and reactive, and the more stable upper in the forefoot, which contributes, among other things, to better maintaining the fit of the shoe.
