Intro:
Mike tested all three generations of the Nova 100 (300 grams). The first version was good, but a bit stiff, while the second version already felt more solid and comfortable. The Nova 100 V3 is equipped with technological improvements such as the FS2 (Flex Stabilization System 2) , a double rib structure in the frame for more stability. Kraibon, an elastomer that is often used in motor sports and aerospace, offers excellent dampening properties. The result is a racket that plays more stable, comfortable and powerful.
Baseline:
From the baseline, the Nova 100 V3 offers impressive power. This racket is on the same level as the Babolat Pure Drive or Yonex EZONE 100 in terms of power. The balls come fast and deep with little effort. What really stands out is how solid the racket feels due to the double rib structure and the cushioning foam in the frame.
The spin potential is average to good, not as extreme as a Babolat Pure Aero , but sufficient to control the power. The racket has an RA (stiffness) of 69, which provides power without feeling too stiff. Slices and drop shots can be played with sufficient feeling. The maneuverability is also fine, and the plow-through can be improved with extra weight at 3 and 9 o'clock.
Service:
The Nova 100 V3 offers free service power, ideal for players who want a more powerful serve or can use some help from their racket. The open mesh of the 16x19 string pattern makes slice and kick serves easy.
Just:
At the net the racket also performs well. It is stable enough to parry hard balls and offers a reasonable touch, although not as refined as rackets such as the Wilson Pro Staff or Head Prestige. The maneuverability is more than sufficient, allowing the racket to be quickly in position.
Power/control Diadem Nova 100 V3:
As expected, the Nova 100 V3 is more power over control. The racket offers solid power, but thanks to the stability of the frame, you maintain control over the ball, even at high speed. Players will need to use some spin to control the power and prevent the balls from flying long.
Comfort/arm friendliness:
The Nova 100 V3 excels in comfort. The double rib structure in the frame ensures less torsion and absorbs shocks well. This makes the racket very arm-friendly, which is a big plus compared to many of its competitors. It is without a doubt one of the most comfortable rackets in the 100 sq/inch segment.
Bottom line:
The Diadem Nova 100 V3 has received an excellent update with a new design and advanced technologies. It is one of the best power rackets on the market, with the added bonus of great comfort. This racket is ideal for players looking for extra power and stability, and the solid, unique playing feel makes it complete.
