Head Hawk Touch close

A first not only because this is a review of the brand new Head Hawk Touch , but also because it is my baptism of fire as a string tester . My history with strings is quite simple: durability was paramount with tension retention a close second. In my Wilson Juice Pro I play with a fairly stiff and non- elastic string. A big advantage of such a string is direct ball contact. The string does not really do anything extra other than transfer the power of the stroke directly to the ball. The Head Hawk Touch took some getting used to in that respect . To my mind a flexible string that grabs the ball well (a lot of ball pocketing as it is so nicely called) and feels like it stays in your racket longer .

From the first ball I immediately noticed that the string is silent ; you do n't hear a metallic ping or pong, but a soft, dampened sound . I also notice that you have to do a bit more yourself to generate power . On the other hand, there is a wonderful ball feel, especially with volleys and slices. Producing spin is also no problem with this string . This string also lends itself perfectly for strokes from the baseline . With the Hawk Touch I was able to control the length of my strokes with both my backhand and forehand .

For players who can generate their own power , the Head Hawk Touch provides even more ball feel and precision from any position on the court.
