Do you quickly suffer from tired arms, sensitive to impact on the arm or elbow and does this affect your tennis fun? The Herzog arm sleeves for tennis may offer a solution!
Herzog, in full Herzog Sport, is mainly known for its sports compression stockings. These stockings are gradually becoming more common in tennis, which is not surprising because the well-known whiplash is one of the most common injuries in our sport. The stockings ensure less shock load and accelerate the removal of waste products, which contributes to a faster recovery. During the ABN-AMRO World Tennis Tournament 2016, Herzog launched a new product for tennis, the Sport Compression Armsleeves. Mike tested the Herzog armsleeves for mijnracket.nl. Tested product: Brand: Herzog Model: (Sport Compression) Armsleeves Test duration: 4.5 hours For more information, see: http://herzogsport.com/nl/
Tester: Name: Mike Playing strength: 4/4 Type of player: somewhat more classic player, flat groundstrokes, generates little spin himself. Had shoulder problems until recently Racket history player: Head Ti Fire, Babolat Pure Drive, Prince EXO3 Rebel Team, Wilson Steam 100 BLX2, Head Graphene Radical MP and the Yonex EZONE DR 98 310 Fitting and test: Just like the compression socks, the Herzog arm sleeves must also be properly fitted for optimal functioning. You need to know the size of your wrist, the size of your biceps with your arm bent (your muscle ball, so to speak) and the length of your arm to determine the correct size. After trying on the product, the testing could begin. The first thing I noticed is that the Herzog arm sleeves feel firm, i.e. there is stretch in the product, but not too much. The arm sleeves themselves weigh almost nothing, which is also useful to know of course. When you put on the arm sleeves, they really fit like a second skin. They fit seamlessly and give a firm (first) feeling. The tight fit of the arm sleeves does not affect the freedom of movement of the arm. I tested the Herzog arm sleeves during 3 sessions of one and a half hours. As mentioned, I have had shoulder problems in the (recent) past. The sleeves are just below the armpit, so this does not make much difference for the shoulder. However, it was good to feel that the shock load on the arm as a whole was less. Quite pleasant I must say! I can well imagine that this reduced shock load will reduce fatigue on the arm during, for example, a long match or competition day. What was also clearly noticeable is that the Herzog arm sleeves are not just an elastic arm sock, but that the special texture of the fabric really compresses the arm. It takes some getting used to at first, but it actually feels nice and solid. Fortunately, I do not suffer from elbow problems myself, but given the good support and reduced shock load on the muscles, I think that the Herzog arm sleeves could also work well for players who unfortunately do have to deal with this. All in all a nice test and if needed (maybe during the colder first competition days) I will definitely use the Herzog arm sleeves. The Herzog arm sleeves are now available in our webshop!
