Test scores Prince Textreme 2.5 Phantom 100X:
From the baseline it was immediately noticeable that this racket gives a controlled, low-powered playing feel. It is absolutely not comparable to popular power frames such as the Babolat Pure Drive or Wilson Ultra 100, which feel much stiffer. The Phantom 100X on the other hand has a much more predictable feel. This means that you have to do more in terms of swing and acceleration to generate sufficient power, but the advantage is that you have constant control and guidance over the ball.
Compared to its predecessor, the Phantom Pro 100, this new version offers a bit more stability and power, making the racket more versatile. The spin potential is above average, partly due to the open 16×18 string pattern and the fine "ball pocketing" through the supple frame. This ensures a pleasant ball feel, especially with slices, drop shots and volleys.
The Phantom 100X is quite easy to maneuver due to its low balance (31.5 cm) and offers insane comfort. The feel reminds Mike of classic Prince rackets like the CTS Synergy DB or Pat Rafter's Precision Response 97 - a real trip down memory lane!
Service:
In terms of service, the Phantom 100X doesn't offer much free power, so you have to put a bit more effort into it yourself. However, the racket serves very consistently and predictably. Kick and slice serves come off easily, but for extra service power you have to work hard, especially if you're not a "service cannon".
Just:
This racket performs fantastically at the net. It is fast, has a generous hitting zone and offers a lot of feeling for precise volleys. With harder balls the frame remains solid enough, partly thanks to the Anti Torque System (ATS), which contributes to extra stability.
Power/Control
With a power level of 750, it is clear that this frame offers a little less power than, for example, the Prince Tour 100P, Head Graphene 360+ Speed MP or Babolat Pure Strike 100. These frames have a slightly sharper feel, while the Phantom 100X offers more touch and control. Although the Phantom is more focused on control, it is not extremely underpowered. With a good swing you can generate speed and you get a lot of control, predictability and touch in return. This frame offers just a little more power than its predecessor, the Phantom Pro 100.
Comfort/arm-friendliness Prince Textreme 2.5 Phantom 100X:
The comfort of the Phantom 100X is one of the strongest points of this racket. With a forgiving 100 sq/inch head, a low RA value of 58, low balance and slim profile, this frame is one of the most comfortable rackets on the market. It is comparable to the Wilson Clash series.
Bottom line:
The Prince Textreme 2.5 Phantom 100X offers a unique combination of control, comfort and spin potential. It is an ideal choice for players looking for a racquet that offers more control than power, while still being forgiving and arm-friendly.
