Tretorn Series+ tennis ball tested

The Swedish brand Tretorn is best known for its pressureless balls. Many do not know that Tretorn also has a very nice gas-filled ball. Today a test report of the Tretorn Series+ (gas-filled) tennis ball ! Tretorn Serie+ ball full The Tretorn Series+ is an ITF (International Tennis Federation) approved tennis ball used at a number of ATP tournaments. The ball was known as the official ball for the ATP Challenger Series. The Tretorn Series+ tennis ball is built slightly differently than other tennis balls. This ball is made with the TRI-TEC system to maintain the pressure of the ball. This means that a membrane is placed around the rubber core of the ball to ensure optimal pressure for longer. Many gas-filled tennis balls do not last very long (they become soft quite quickly), this ball performs a lot better in that regard, but more about that later. The rubber core of the ball is slightly thinner than usual for optimal ball feeling and also because the special membrane is placed over it. Finally the felt layer. The Milliken felt is made for extra durability and therefore a consistent performance of the ball. Tretorn Series+ TRI-TEC construction overview Review During 2 sessions (2.5 hours and 1.5 hours respectively) on clay I put the Tretorn Series+ tennis ball through the test. I must honestly admit that I was a bit skeptical at first because my previous encounters with Tretorn balls involved the rather hard pressureless balls that I sometimes get to play during competition. I'm not a fan of that. But it soon became clear that this Tretorn Series+ tennis ball is very different. Fresh out of the tube, the ball actually has a very nice feel. This remained the case throughout my 4 hours of play. With the Wilson US Open, where we play the competition and tournaments at our club, the ball always has to settle in fresh out of the can. I think the ball feels a bit light and floaty and I have the feeling that I always have to put a little more spin in my fairly flat groundstrokes to control the ball. After a set of play, I find the Wilson US Open optimal in terms of feeling, after which the ball lasts a total of about 5 hours before it is finished. The Wilson US Open does not excel in terms of longevity. After 4 hours of playing with this Tretorn Series+, it still looks fresh enough for at least 4 more hours. This ball definitely maintains optimal pressure for longer playing fun. Tretorn is pressurized full Compared to the Dunlop Fort Max TP, which is also used for many tournaments in our area, I think the Tretorn Series+ offers a little more feeling. Dunlop's Fort Max TP feels slightly heavier. I don't think the balls differ much in terms of lifespan. Previously I also had the opportunity to test the RS Allcourt Black Edition from RS Tennis (by Robin Söderling). In terms of feel, I think both balls are comparable, although this Tretorn Serie+ ball plays a little lighter. In terms of wear resistance, somewhat surprisingly, I like this Tretorn Serie+ ball better. The Tretorn Series+ gas-filled tennis ball has absolutely positively surprised me and I think it is an excellent and more sustainable alternative to the Wilson US Open!
