Service:
In the summer of 2023 I unfortunately suffered a shoulder injury due to overuse and with my previous racket that did not go well, especially during my service. I can hit a hard first serve and that comes out very well with the Blade 100 V9. Because it is so forgiving, I no longer have any problems with my shoulder, but I can still maintain the power in my serve. My second serve is not that strong, but in combination with the string (mainly the Pro X, because of its 6 corners) and the racket it can give it a good effect. By the way, my old racket is the Wilson Pro Staff 97L V12, the black frame with white at 3 and 9 o'clock in the blade.
Just:
At the net this racket is super stable, and it certainly holds its own. Even when the balls hit hard. It is nice and manoeuvrable and you have good control at the net, because the racket is just a bit lighter than its bigger brothers from the Blade 98 series. From finishing volleys to smashes to stop volleys.
Power/control:
I love the combination of power and control with this racket. You can still deliver good hits from the baseline, without the racket transmitting vibrations. Even when the opponent increases the speed, the Wilson Blade 100 V9 remains super stable, which we were already used to from the previous versions of the Blade. But they keep coming back with new developments, which make the Blade series increasingly (re)fined. While maintaining the good combination of power and control.
Comfort/arm friendliness:
As mentioned before, I had an injury to my right shoulder of my hitting arm. That's why I knew I had to switch to another racket. After testing many rackets, I had the least to no problems with this racket, because it is so stable, allows little vibration and is manoeuvrable. Of course, I also tested some counterparts of the Blade 100 V9, but I still found the comfort of this racket the best, without losing any game. The
Blade 100 V9 is now available in our webshop, free of charge strung with a string of your choice!
