Serena Williams will play with this new racket from January and the rest of the new Blade series will also be launched. In close consultation with Serena, a matte black frame with gold accents was chosen. The bright green color at 3 and 9 o'clock in the blade represents the Blade racket family. From 2017, all Wilson performance rackets will have color accents in the blade for the recognition of the different racket series.New in this Wilson Blade Serena Williams 104 Autograph and in the other models of the upcoming new Blade series is Countervail. Countervail is a 'state of the art' carbon fiber, originally made for NASA. This material gives the same performance (feel, stability and response) of a normal tennis racket, but with less vibration and impact on the arm. This should ensure less fatigue and a lot more comfort for the arm and shoulder. In addition, the racket continues to use existing technology such as the PowerHoles at 3 and 9 o'clock in the blade and Parallel Drilling, both for an enlargement of the sweet spot.
The Wilson Blade Serena Williams 104 Autograph is also equipped with the X2 Ergo Handle. This allows the upper half of the grip to be customized for players with a two-handed backhand. With 2 inserts under the grip itself you can thicken the grip at the place of your 'second hand' with a two-handed backhand. Stay tuned for more updates on the new Wilson Blade 2017 series!
