We previously reviewed the Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 Autograph 2016 . This new racket based on the specs of Roger Federer himself comes in a cool matte black version. Its lighter brother that we are discussing today, the Wilson Pro Staff 97 2016, comes in a different color scheme. This is partly because Wilson wants to visually distinguish between the different rackets within the Pro Staff family. So today it's the turn of the Wilson Pro Staff 97 2016:

The Wilson Pro Staff 97 2016 plays similar to its predecessor. The racket remains with the same specs and frame construction and offers a comfortably soft, cushioning feel. The classic box-beam-like frame construction provides this playing experience and the associated feel and control over the ball. The Wilson Pro Staff 97 2016 offers a nice mix of power and control. In the previous Pro Staff series, the head size has been slightly increased to 97 sq/inch, which is also what this racket remains. Compared to previous versions of the Pro Staff, there is now a slightly larger sweet spot, which makes the racket slightly more forgiving and more widely applicable. Due to this larger head size and a slightly stiffer frame construction (RA 66), the racket offers quite a bit of power by Pro Staff standards. The 16/19 stringing pattern provides a lot of spinning potential. The racket is lightning fast at the net due to the low 31.0 cm balance, ideal for the attacking player or Attacker according to the Wilson player ID.
