The current Wilson Pro Staff racket family
The matte black Wilson Pro Staff series has proven to be a great success, partly due to a great year for Roger Federer. The Pro Staff RF97 Autograph , the racket made to Federer's exact specifications, is the figurehead of this. In addition, Wilson also released the Pro Staff 97LS and the Pro Staff 97 ULS in the same color scheme. Strangely enough, the regular Pro Staff 97 of 315 grams got a black-red color scheme, similar to the Pro Staff 97S of Grigor Dimitrov. Wilson is now changing that!New: Wilson Pro Staff 97 CV and Wilson Pro Staff 97L CV
Wilson adds the Pro Staff 97 CV to the Pro Staff line-up. This is the matte black version with Countervail of the Pro Staff 97. The regular black-red Pro Staff without Countervail also remains in the collection. Completely new is the Pro Staff 97L CV. This racket will be sold alongside the 97LS, but has a regular 16/19 string pattern and therefore the addition of Countervail for less impact and fatigue on the arm and body.
Wilson Pro Staff 97 CV
At 315 grams, the Wilson Pro Staff 97 CV is perhaps the most playable and commercial Pro Staff. The matte black finish is now exactly the same as the RF97, including the Roger Federer 'icon logo' in the heart of the racket. Countervail has previously been used with varying degrees of success in the Blade, Burn and Ultra series. Many find the more dampened playing feel of Countervail pleasant for the arm and shoulder. Others prefer a more direct response and feel from their racket. This is of course a matter of personal preference. Read our test report of the Pro Staff 97 CV here . 
Now this Wilson Pro Staff 97 CV also gets this addition. The question that comes to mind is: does the more dampened playing feel fit the Pro Staff racket family? This normally stands for unprecedented control and a direct playing feel and very direct feedback. We will soon take this racket to the court ourselves for an extensive test session. Wilson Pro Staff 97L CV
'Completely new' in the Pro Staff racket family is the Wilson Pro Staff 97L CV. At 290 grams, Wilson only offered a Spin Effect racket with an 18/16 string pattern in this racket family. Now Wilson brings a racket with a regular 16/19 string pattern at the same weight for a better mix of power and control. This also makes it easier for players to grow within the Pro Staff series. This racket also gets Countervail for a bit of extra comfort. With this racket, Wilson aims at the better youth player and players who are looking for lightweight control. In our opinion, the addition of Countervail fits in perfectly.
