Because the frame is somewhat stiffer than average (RA 67) offers the Wilson Pro Staff 97 LS 2016 enough power. The open 18/16 string pattern offers extra grip on the ball for spin and slice. Because the 18/16 string pattern is not as extremely open as some other Spin Effect rackets from Wilson, a full polyester string setup would not necessarily be necessary. Also a hybrid string setup (for example poly in the length and multi or gut in the width or the other way around) could work fine in this racket.
