The new Wilson Ultra V5 rackets will be released on July 15, 2025! Alongside a new look and feel, improved quality control and a new bumper system (as seen on the Blade V9 and Clash V3 series, among others), Wilson is adding the Ultra 99 Pro V5 to the collection. It uses the mold from the well-known Steam 99!
What’s new in the Wilson Ultra V5 rackets
Don’t worry: the Wilson Ultra V5 still delivers the explosive power it’s known for! However, a few subtle changes have been made. The rackets should offer easier ball pocketing for better feel and control over the ball. This should also give the rackets a better balance of power and control, allowing for more variety in your shots. Overall, though, this is still a power-oriented racket family, of course.
Quality control on the frames should also have improved. So, if you buy multiple rackets, they should be more closely matched in terms of weight, balance and swingweight. Another new feature is the bumper system. For the Ultra V5 rackets, Wilson now uses the same “click and go” bumper system as on the Blade V9 and Clash V3 rackets. This makes it easy to replace a bumper, and also makes it easier to customize your rackets. These bumpers, the other grommets and the butt cap are made from Agiplast material. This plant-based materialcontains sustainable components to reduce its environmental footprint.
