Playing characteristics Babolat Pure Strike 98 16x19:

This version of the Pure Strike is extremely reliable from the baseline. Here, the racket offers a good mix of power and control. The swingweight is on the high side at 330, so you will need to provide your own stroke and racket head speed. If you do, you will easily get power and depth in your shots in return, without having to worry about overhitting. However, if you have an average swing speed, check out the slightly more accessible Pure Strike 100 16x20. This update retains the familiar crisp Babolat playing feel, but adds some extra feel due to the lower RA. In other words: the racket feels positively stiff, but the lower RA just takes the sharp edges off. The spin potential is solid, fitting this frame nicely.

At the net, the racket may not be super maneuverable, but it is solid as a rock. Hard balls are easy to parry with a lot of confidence.

If you have some muscle yourself, you will certainly appreciate the increased swingweight when serving. Mass equals power here! If you swing through fully, the racket will do the rest of the work for you. Kicks and slices go well, albeit in a controlled manner.

All in all, a great update of the Pure Strike 98 16x19, with the improved playing feel and the higher swingweight standing out in particular. Now available in the Carbon Grey colorway.
