Playing characteristics Percept 100D:

Mike recently put the Percept 100D through its paces in testing. This racket has a very special mix of control, feel, and comfort, while still offering a solid amount of power.

As is typical of Yonex, the new Percept rackets come packed with more than enough technical features. Servo Filter provides ‘selective vibration dampening’. This film layer is placed between the graphite layers and provides more flex on ball impact while filtering out unwanted vibrations—13% more than rackets without Servo Filter. All of this provides more ball feel and finer control over the ball. 2G-Namd Flex Force, combined with this filter around the racket’s sweet spot, also provides more ‘ball pocketing’, which benefits spin and control. Finally, the head of the PERCEPT rackets itself has been slightly stiffened for 3% more head stability. This provides a little extra power.

From the baseline, the Yonex Percept 100D delivers plenty of feel and stability, along with fine, controlled power. The 18x19 string pattern offers plenty of control without significantly reducing the sweet spot. A very pleasant bonus is the racket’s excellent vibration dampening. A superb all-rounder from Yonex with a unique playing feel.
