Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P tested

The Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P tested by our guest blogger Luca! Luca comes from a Babolat Pure Aero. Read his comparison and extensive review here.

Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P

As you can read in the review of the Prince ATS Textreme Tour 98 , Mike is very pleased with that racket. Curious about Mike's enthusiasm about the Tour 98, I tested the ATS Tour 100P version. I even tested this racket very extensively and played matches with it. Which the rating of this review may already give away a bit.

The Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P is now available in our webshop , including free stringing of your choice!

Specifications Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P:

Brand: Prince Model: ATS Textreme Tour 100P Head size: 100 sq/inch Weight: 305 gr Balance: 31.0 cm String pattern: 18×20 Length: 27 inch RA: 61 Beam: 22mm / 23mm / 20mm Swingweight: 322

Technology:

For this update of the Tour series, Prince again uses the well-known Textreme technology with Twaron as with the 2nd generation Tours. New is the addition of ATS or the Anti Torque System. The Textreme itself already gives a very stable playing feel, without feeling stiff. The added ATS technology is placed around the heart piece and at the top of the blade. This makes the racket feel even more stable. This combined with a nice low RA (stiffness) of 61, this ensures excellent comfort and ball feel.

Baseline:

The 18x20 stringing pattern makes you immediately notice the control and stability of this racket. In addition, the slightly lower balance point of 31.0 cm ensures that the racket feels fast. This ensured that my backhands (my weaker stroke) were very controlled, without surprisingly losing any power. Fortunately, this means that I can cover fewer extra meters on the court by not walking around my backhand every time. With this racket, you can rally and strike very stably from the baseline, which can really put opponents under pressure.

Service:

I myself do not need extra power from a racket for my service. The Tour 100P delivers enough service power and the extra feeling makes it possible to place a somewhat harder service in a controlled manner. Then a weight of 305 grams and 18x20 string pattern is still very nice. A possible kick service comes off fine, just solid as it should be with a second service.

In the track:

If you have played tennis yourself on the court, then the Tour 100P will be fine! The higher and slower balls can be put away well after the bounce. Or if the balls come to you a bit faster, then the balance point of 31.0 cm ensures that the racket can be quickly maneuvered and the touch of the volleys is also good. At the net, the Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P feels wonderfully fast, which is nice if there is less time to react than from the baseline.

Conclusion Prince ATS Textreme Tour 100P:

What a great racket is the ATS Textreme Tour 100P, perfect for players who are looking for a bit more control in their game, without going to a smaller head size. Normally I am really into spin rackets like the Babolat Pure Aero and Dunlop SX 300 , but this racket surprised me very positively. So good, that this racket will replace my much cherished Pure Aero's. It can be said that Prince has really done very well with the new Tour line!
