Wilson has a lot of great things in store for us for 2016! The Pro Staff racket family will be expanded with the Pro Staff 97S, Wilson will introduce a whole new racket line with the Ultra XP and a new 'top of the line' stringing, the Luxilon Element, will be released.
Wilson Pro Staff 97S – Grigor Dimitrov
After 24 months of research and testing, Wilson Lab in collaboration with Grigor Dimitrov has developed the Wilson Pro Staff 97S. The Pro Staff 97S combines the pure, classic Pro Staff feeling with Wilson's Spin Effect technology as an ultra-efficient weapon for the attacking player, the so-called 'Attacker'. The release of this blade in the US will be around October 1st. Click HERE for a full review of the Wilson Pro Staff 97S.
Wilson Ultra XP (Xtreme Power rackets)
The Ultra XP will be Wilson's most 'powerful' racket line ever. XP stands for Xtreme Power. The new racket line will consist of 4 models: the Ultra XP 100S, 100LS, 110S and the 125. A new frame construction provides extra stiffness for unprecedented power, with Wilson adding its Spin Effect technology (the addition of S behind the rackets) in 3 of the 4 frames for extra spin potential. The Wilson Ultra XP racket line is for the 'Allcourter', the player who covers the entire court.
The Ultra XP 100 LS is a lighter midplus version, where the Ultra XP 110S has an oversize blade for even more accessible power. The ULTRA XP 125 will be the ultimate power blade for players with a short swing. The latter will only be released in the US.
The Ultra XP 100S, 100LS, and 110S will hit the US market in early September, with the European market next in early 2016. The Ultra XP 125 will be released around December 1st and will be available in the US only. For a full specs list of the new Wilson Ultra XP line, see here.
Luxilon Element covering
Wilson and Luxilon have joined forces to produce a groundbreaking new string: the Luxilon Element. The string uses the Luxilon Multi-Mono technology, as used in the well-known M2 string. This technology combines the elasticity and comfort of a multifilament string with the extra spin and power of a polyester string in the Luxilon Element. The Luxilon Element string will come in a 17 (1.25 mm) and a 16 (1.30 mm) thickness. The string will be available in the Benelux from October 2015. We will soon place a full test report of this string on mijnracket.nl.
