Introduction:
Yonex has four racquet families, with the EZONE, VCORE and Percept being the most important. The VCORE is all about spin, the Percept is about control, and the EZONE is the “easy one,” offering power and ease of play. The fourth racquet family is the Astrel series: these frames are for players with a compact swing and are designed entirely around comfort.
For 2025, Yonex’s flagship racquet family, the EZONE, was due for an update! This is already the eighth version of the EZONE. New in this update is a larger sweet spot, achieved by modifying the Isometric head shape: the flat section at the top has been widened. The beam thickness at the top of the head has also been adjusted. The frame is slightly thicker here for extra power. The inside of the frame tapers more toward the throat to improve ball pocketing, which benefits power and spin. The biggest change is in the shaft/throat of the racquet, where Minolon has been used in the graphite lay-up. This material provides a soft, comfortable feel on ball impact. Combined with the familiar VDM (Vibration Dampening Mesh) in the handle/grip, it delivers extra comfort.
From the baseline:
You can really dish it out from the baseline with this racquet! I (Mike) tested it on the already fast carpet at Fablohal in Haarlem. This time, though, the ball was flying even faster than usual ;) From the back of the court, this racquet delivers power and depth with ease, yet feels surprisingly smooth to play with. I recently tested Babolat’s new Pure Drive 2025 as well. It has a “raw” feel and plays stiffer, while this EZONE 100 2025 feels softer and more comfortable. Of course, it comes down to personal preference, but for a typical power racquet, this one feels great and is very comfortable.
Despite its substantial power, the control was better than expected. Of course, the occasional ball sails long, but overall I had good control over my shots. The racquet also offers good stability, even when the pace picks up. I’d also give the spin a respectable 7.5 out of 10. It’s not as extreme as with a VCORE or a Head Extreme MP, but it’s still very good.
All in all, a fantastic and very well-rounded racquet from the baseline!
Serve:
The EZONE 100 2025 performs well on serve, too. It doesn’t offer over-the-top power, but it’s clearly above average. Its low swingweight makes it easy to whip around, which definitely helps on serve. Adding a little slice or kick is useful for keeping this racquet in check, and it’s easy to generate with it.

At the net with the Yonex EZONE 100 2025:
At the net, the new EZONE 100 has enough substance to handle hard-hit incoming balls comfortably. For real finesse on drop volleys, you’ll be better off with the EZONE 98 or a Percept 100D. As expected, smashes are easy to put away with plenty of power. To be honest, this racquet surprised me at the net with its solid feel on ball impact.
Power/control:
I’d rate the power/control ratio at 65/35. This racquet really does pack serious power. But the control pleasantly surprised me! Even in a very fast indoor hall, on carpet and with fresh tennis balls, I didn’t lose control too easily. It helps to put a little spin on your shots. Otherwise, flat groundstrokes can easily fly long. But for a racquet with this much power, the control is still excellent.

Comfort/arm-friendliness:
Another advantage of the new EZONE 100 2025 is its excellent comfort. Power and control don’t always go hand in hand. Notable exceptions are the Diadem Nova 100 V3 and Yonex’s EZONE racquets. I’ve tested quite a few racquets lately, and switching between them isn’t always easy on my arm and shoulder. But with this EZONE 100 2025, there wasn’t a twinge of pain! The improved technology—Minolon and the familiar VDM damping mesh integrated into the grip—combined with the generous sweet spot delivers excellent comfort.
The bottom line on the Yonex EZONE 100 2025:
This latest version of the EZONE 100 really lives up to its name! The new slogan for the “easy one” is “Play Full Power,” and it’s absolutely true to its word. This racquet delivers a serious dose of power, while still offering comfort and more control than expected. I can’t really point to any weaknesses, except that the power might be a bit too much at times. Adding a little extra spin to your shots can help. And if you’re looking for more controlled power, be sure to check out the EZONE 98 2025, which we’ll be reviewing in detail soon! All in all, an excellent update to the EZONE 100.
