Technology and playing characteristics of the Diadem Axis 100:
The all-new Axis series incorporates all of Diadem's top technologies. FS3 (Flex Stabilization System 3) is a triple carbon rib structure within the frame wall/tubing construction. This ensures the racquet twists less and offers a super solid feel at ball impact. Just like with the Elevate V3, there is now Kraibon around the rib structure. This is an elastomer that is widely used in the motorsport and aerospace industries. This material has excellent damping properties and, in combination with the foam (in the entire tubing construction of the racquet), filters out many harmful vibrations. HMT Carbon around the throat and at 3 and 9 o'clock in the head then provides the direct playing feel and power.
From the baseline, this racquet is easy to swing quickly, and you can easily produce a heavy ball. The balls come off the string bed consistently and with control. The racquet has a solid feel at ball impact, so you won't easily lose control with this racquet. A Pure Aero has more 'raw power,' but also feels stiffer. This Axis 100 is slightly more dampened, without losing the feel for the ball.
This racquet is therefore in the same range as the Babolat Pure Aero, Head Extreme MP, and Yonex VCORE 100. Compared to these models, this racquet offers a fraction more control, but above all, more comfort than you would normally find in a typical spin racquet. Our comprehensive review of the Diadem Axis 100 will follow soon!
