Technology and playing characteristics of the Diadem Axis 98:
The all-new Axis series incorporates all of Diadem's top technologies. FS3 (Flex Stabilization System 3) is a triple carbon rib structure in the frame construction. This ensures the racket twists less and offers a super solid feel upon ball impact. Just like the Elevate V3, Kraibon is now wrapped around the rib structure. This is an elastomer widely used in the motorsports and aerospace industries. This material has excellent damping properties and, combined with the foam (in the entire frame construction of the racket), filters out many harmful vibrations. HMT Carbon around the throat and at 3 and 9 o'clock in the hoop then provides the direct playing feel and power.
From the baseline, this racket offers solid spin in a very fast package! Thanks to the Air Foil Frame design, you can easily generate racket head speed with this racket, allowing you to 'brush' over the ball more quickly for easy access to spin. Also notable is that the string pattern in the sweet spot (in this case, slightly higher in the hoop) is a bit denser for additional control. Furthermore, the extremely stable playing feel stands out, as does the associated comfort. Where a Babolat Pure Aero 98 might feel a bit too stiff/raw for some, this Diadem Axis 98 is much more user-friendly in that regard. All in all, a highly recommended choice for players looking for extra spin and power, but in a controlled and fast package!
