The new
Head Extreme 2022 racket family will be released in about a month! Here you will find all information about these new spider monsters, including all models and specifications.
The Extreme racket family will get a makeover in September 2022. Just like in the other Head racket families, the Auxetic technology is used in the new frames. A number of models will also disappear from the line-up, including the Extreme Pro, making everything a bit clearer.
Technology:
Auxetic is applied around the heart piece (the yoke more specifically) of the racket. It's a bit difficult to explain, see
here for the full technical explanation by Head himself . In any case, it gives the racket very fine control over the ball, as if the ball remains 'sticky' in the string bed for a little longer. When it comes off, it does so with a lot of speed and energy in the ball. I previously tested the Boom Pro and the
new Speed MP with the same Auxetic technology and they played very well. In addition, the well-known Graphene material is also used, which strengthens the frames and provides more stability and energy transfer to the ball. The Extreme series is all about maximum spin. To strengthen this spin, Head uses a special Spin Shaft on the Extremes and Spin Grommets at 12 o'clock for more freedom of movement of the longitudinal strings for more snapback and therefore spin. In addition, the rackets all have a fairly open 16x19 stringing pattern for extra grip on the ball. However, on the Extreme Tour it is slightly more compact to add some extra control.
Models Head Extreme 2022 with specifications:
The new Extreme series consists of 5 models. The Pro version disappears from the line-up, making the Tour the heaviest and in this case also the most control-oriented racket in the series. The Extreme PWR will also be discontinued and a number of rackets will be given a new name, following the example of the other racket families. With this, Head wants to make the division per racket family clearer.

Reviews:
Comprehensive reviews of, among others, the Head Extreme Tour 2022 and the MP version will follow soon. I am curious whether the Auxetic technology also works in this racket family for an even more refined playing feeling with better control over the ball.
