Early August 2017 Wilson launches the new Ultra racket family with Gaël Monfils as the figurehead. A number of models get an update with Countervail for less shock load for arm and body. Also new is the addition of the Ultra Tour, which in prostock terms would go through life as the Wilson H19! Here you can find all the info about the Wilson Ultra 2017 series ! Following the Pro Staff , Blade and Burn series, the Ultra racket family gets a major makeover. As with the other racket silos, matte black has been chosen in combination with the color of the racket line at 3 and 9 o'clock in the blade. In the case of the Ultra series, this is light blue.

Technology Wilson Ultra 2017 series

The Wilson Ultra 2017 series has 2 models with the addition of Countervail , the Ultra 100 and the Ultra 105S. This addition of Countervail in the frame construction ensures less impact on the arm and body. We already know Countervail from the Blade and Burn series. In addition, Wilson introduces 2 new technologies in the Ultra 2017 series, namely Power Rib and Crush Zone. Power Rib provides extra stiffness and torsional stability around the heart part of the frame, good for extra power and better control of the ball. Crush Zone is a special tubing heart piece good for a longer ball-string contact. This has the advantage of more connection with the ball and more energy return (trampoline effect) to the ball.

Models Wilson Ultra 2017 series

The line-up of the Ultra series has changed quite a bit. The Ultra 97 has been replaced by the Ultra Tour. Rumors are that this Wilson Ultra Tour is the Wilson H19 in Pro Stock terms. Normally the H19 was only available for professional players. Now this competition frame with a low RA value of 63 would also become available for the regular market. The Ultra 100 will of course remain, but it will be updated with Countervail. Wilson will replace the Ultra 103S with the Wilson Ultra 105S CV, also a model with Countervail for extra comfort and less shock load. The old Ultra 108 will make way for a Wilson Ultra 110. The Ultra 100 UL Team will be called the Ultra 100 UL and new is the Wilson Ultra 100L.

Below is an overview of the full line-up with specifications of the Wilson Ultra 2017 series. The first 4 models are available from August 15th.

• Ultra Tour: 97 sq/inch, 305 grams, 31.5 balance, 18/20 string pattern, RA 63
• Ultra 100 CV: 100 sq/inch, 300 grams, 32.0 balance, 16/19 string pattern, RA 74
• Ultra 100L: 100 sq/inch, 277 grams, 32.5 balance, 16/19 stringing pattern, RA 68
• Ultra 100UL: 100 sq/inch, 257 grams, 33.0 balance, 16/19 string pattern, RA 68

The series will be completed with the Wilson Ultra 105S CV and the Ultra 110 at the beginning of October. The Ultra 105S CV is a Spin Effect racket with a 16/15 string pattern and Countervail. The Ultra 110 should be the most comfortable frame of the Wilson Ultra 2017 series. The specs of these rackets will follow later.
